Inspiration: Today’s High-Voltage Flash Websites
We definitely enjoyed reading this month’s issue of the Adobe newsletter. Personally, I’m looking forward to every Edge of Flash showcase. After reviewing the creative examples of Flash websites, I read Rob Ford’s epilogue:
“There have been so many discussions lately about Flash. Many are talking about the lack of support on iPhone and iPad. Then there’s the whole HTML5 vs. Flash debate. In all reality, the work always speaks for itself, as we can see here, and it’s the creative individuals of the smaller companies who are shaping the future of the web, not the CEOs of the world’s leading brands, who seem to be trying their best to shackle the creativity and freedom the Internet thrives on.”
Therefore, here’s a showcase of two brilliant Flash websites you should check out:
Verbatim Championship
This was also featured in the Adobe newsletter, but I believe it’s ingenious enough to re-post it here. The website was developed to celebrate theĀ launching of the Japanese arm of the Verbatim company. You can create your own monster from several Verbatim components and enter a fight with other Verbatim monsters.
Bell
As one of the employees of Bell describes the company, I would say it fits perfect with how I would describe their website: “challenging, rewarding, fun”.
If you’ve found other examples of creative usage of Flash, don’t hesitate to leave a comment and we’ll check it out. Thanks!
